№ 002 — The fine print

Terms.

This page describes the terms of being a Double Pars member. We've written it in plain English. By submitting an application, you agree to what's below.

What Double Pars is.

Double Pars is a curated golf social club. We pair members of compatible age, energy, and skill level into foursomes and book them onto a real course on a weekend afternoon. We provide loaner clubs and a glove if you don't have your own, and we cover the first round at the clubhouse afterward.

Who can apply.

Double Pars is open to applicants 21 years or older (the post-round drinks are at a clubhouse bar that requires legal drinking age). All applications are reviewed by hand and acceptance is at our discretion. We may waitlist or decline an application without explaining why; we'll always do so politely.

How members opt-in.

By submitting the application form at doublepars.com, you consent to receive transactional SMS from Double Pars about your application status, foursome pairings, day-of event details, and post-event surveys. Message frequency is approximately 5–10 messages per pairing cycle. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. Full disclosure in our Privacy Policy.

Cancellation.

If you've been confirmed into a foursome and can't make it, reply OUT by Friday at noon. We'll pull a backup member from the pool. Late cancellations (after Friday noon) make the foursome's experience worse and are tracked. We don't currently charge for late cancellations during our free-cohort period; this may change once we begin charging for events.

Photography.

A photographer may be present at some events for editorial or marketing content. By participating, you grant Double Pars a non-exclusive license to use your likeness in photographs and editorial materials taken at events, without separate compensation. If you'd rather not be photographed at a particular event, reply NOPHOTO to the foursome reveal SMS for that event and we'll let the photographer know.

Conduct.

Double Pars depends on members being decent to each other. We expect respectful behavior on the course, in the cart, and at the bar. We reserve the right to remove members who behave in ways that compromise the experience for others — including, but not limited to: harassment, repeated late or no-show behavior, or conduct that staff or other members find threatening.

Pricing.

Vol. I (our first cohort) is on the house — we host the round, the loaner clubs, the glove, and the first drink. Once we begin charging for events, pricing will be communicated clearly before any payment is collected. You will never be charged without explicit prior consent.

Liability.

Golf is a physical activity that involves risk, including risk of injury from errant balls, cart accidents, weather, and the inherent risks of being on a golf course. By participating in a Double Pars event, you acknowledge these risks. Double Pars, its founder, and its agents are not liable for injury, lost or damaged property, missed travel connections, or any other consequence arising from your participation in an event. You participate at your own risk.

Intellectual property.

The Double Pars name, brand, logo, photography, and editorial content are owned by Double Pars and may not be reproduced, resold, or used for commercial purposes without our written consent.

Changes.

These terms may be updated as the club evolves. Material changes will be communicated by SMS or email before they take effect. Your continued participation after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Termination.

You may stop being a member at any time by replying STOP to any of our messages and emailing hello@doublepars.com to request data deletion. We may, in our sole discretion, decline applications, remove members, or pause the club for any reason.

Governing law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any dispute will be resolved in the appropriate court located in Orange County or Los Angeles County, California.
